Begin Again

Life has endings.

The end of a chapter, the end of a book,
The end of a career or
The end of a life.

When thngs end, we learn to let go.
Wait in trust.
That all will begin again.

Perhaps there has been something that you have been putting aside or preventing from moving forward or completing. You have waited long enough. What would it feel like to begin again?

When your world is crumbling

Are there days when you feel as if your world is crumbling?
Things appear out of control,
Feelings seem overwhelming.
You perceive things to be worse than they probably are.
You ask yourself, What do I do now?
You pause.
                 You breathe.
                                 You steady yourself.

You reassure yourself, "It will be okay."
And tomorrow, It is different.

Do not allow the challenges of today to mislead you into believing that your world is crumbling. Your challenges are only to teach you lessons in faith, trust and patience.

Your Life is in My Hands

Do not worry my child...
I have your life in my hands.
It is a time of re-birth,
With infinite possibilities for what is to come next.
But you need not worry.
Trust Me instead.
The now holds a wondrous gift for you.

A Falling Message

I see something small and orange falling
from above me,
A leaf perhaps, reminding me to
Let go,
      to be unattached,
      to be without expectation,
to let go fully and completely.

But wait...

With a closer look and Divine timing,
I see that it is not a falling leaf at all
But a monarch butterfly
Gliding effortlessly in front of of me,
Reminding me
      to trust,
      to allow,
      to be without fear
And to stand in awe of transformation.

Letting life become better

Life certainly has its ups and downs. When life is up, you feel no need to change or alter anything. When life is down, you feel an urgency to fix things and get things back as they once were. But what if you knew that life had to periodically turn upside down for you to face your own weaknesses?  After all, strength is only demonstrated in times of adversity. Therefore, life periodically offers opportunities to develop our essence. Why stay the same when you can be so much more? Why settle for life as it is, when it can be so much better? Let life become better. Do not be so quick to judge the experiences of life, including those which are the most painful. Be patient and see how things develop and unfold. You may be surprised to recognize that you handle life stress differently, that you love someone even more, or that you are more self-reliant. In other words, your life became better!

Plan B

Success in life has very little to do with how you expect Plan A to go, but how well you handle Plan B. The plans for today seemed pretty set, and the day began well. When family lost power, they called to ask if they could come over and cook their dinner. We had just eaten and there was plenty of leftovers to share.  And so they did, and I enjoyed their company. I sat back and noticed how well it all seemed to happen. Life is much like that. Things change. Plans change. People change.

The lesson: Even when the unexpected happens, all can continue to be well. It is simply different than what was expected.

Stop worrying about money

In challenging economic times, it is common to worry about money. Worry is nothing more than normalized fear. No one wants to admit to feeling fear, yet they will often say that they worry. When you worry about money, you are likely to feel afraid that there is not enough. Keep in mind that the fear of not having enough money rarely creates affluence. On the contrary, it brings your focus to not enough. Since what you focus on increases, you increase the likelihood of not having enough money in your life. Worry is a waste of time. It only produces more worry. In addition, I have sadly witnessed people becoming seriously ill as a result of being worried about money. Spare yourself the misery by recognizing that people survive financial issues. It may take some time to turn it around, but you will get beyond whatever financial issues you are facing. It is not beneficial to worry. Worry only fills the void when you are unsure of what else to do. If you need to do something, choose to create a plan for improving your finances. Revise your budget. Get a second job. Sell the treadmill that you no longer use. But do not worry. Know instead, that “This too shall pass.” You will indeed survive. Let go of fear and worry and embrace trust.

                                                        I always have enough.
